Dublin Airport is the main hub airport for both mainline Aer Lingus as well as Aer Lingus Regional. The airport also acts as a major base airport for rival Irish airline Ryanair. Dublin Airport is located north of Dublin City centre in the Swords area of the county. The airport has 2 runways as well as 2 airports, able to handle over 22m passengers yearly. Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional operate out of the newer T2, where other long-haul and US airlines operate out of. Dublin is one of few airports globally that allow United States Customs Pre-Clearance, where travellers can pass customs and immigration for the US while still in Ireland. Although still in Ireland, this is undertaken by the US Customs and Border Protection Agency.
Dublin Airport offers a diverse and extensive route map operated by a host of airlines including Aegean Airlines, Air Europa, Air Canada, Air Moldova, Air Transat, American Airlines, Blue Air, British Airways, FlyOne, Ryanair, SunExpress, Transavia, United Airlines and many others.
Aer Lingus Regional doesn't have its own aircraft as the services are contractually operated by Emerald Airlines and their aircraft. However, the aircraft which are used for these services are the ATR-600 aircraft. Emerald Airlines currently has 2 aircraft with a further 8 on order to be used for Aer Lingus Regional services.
