Aerovías DAP is an airline with over 35 years of experience, connecting passengers to the main areas of Magallanes daily. The airline was originally known as the airline of Patagonia. Aerovías DAP charter and scheduled flights to different locations in Chile, Argentina and other areas of South America as well. The airline flies internationally from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia which joins the two capital points of Argentinean and Chilean Patagonia, as well as to Antarctica through its brand Antarctic Airways.
The airline was founded in the 1980s with just one plane for the use of transporting supplies, due to the limited transport links in Magallanes at the time. Aerovías DAP specialises in providing logistic support for scientific bases and as well flying tourists to the experience the natural wonders of these locations.
The airline is unique in that its one of the only airlines to fly to Porvenir — a city located in Tierra del Fuego Island, across the Magellan Strait, with a population of over 5 thousand.

Presidente Carlos Ibáñez International Airport is a proud member of the Airports Council International, a Latin-American Caribbean organisation. The airport handles large numbers of tourists coming through to visit areas in the Chilean Antartica regions. The airport is shared with the Chilean Air Force. There are plenty of commercial facilities, including cargo facility, paid parking area and a 3-gate passenger terminal. The terminal consists of several vendors, a cyber-café and small stores, two luggage belts and a restaurant on the second level and in the boarding area as well as 11 check-in counters.
