About

Aerus is a Mexican airline that plans to fly in the early quarters of 2023. They plan to fly in the north of Mexico domestically and internationally. The Mexican airline has received authorisation from the local government to launch commercial operations. The national authorities are keen on the launch of Aerus as it will bring connectivity amongst the region with its routes. The aim of the general director is to provide domestic flights all over Mexico and expand further beyond borders by 2030.

Its regional airport hub will be based in Monterrey International Airport, Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. This is where most of its flights will be departing from.

The Herrera Group, who are based in San Luis Potosí, will be investing 98 million dollars into the Mexican airline to support building the company.

Destinos

In the beginning, Aerus is looking to fly in the north of the country domestically and internationally, and soon becoming a regional operator.

The specific destinations hasn't been launched yet, however the Herrera group (working in conjunction with Aerus) are aiming to provide routes that no other airline is offering at the moment.

Equipaje

Although Aerus has not yet provided this information, most airlines that travel long-haul flights will allow you to bring a cabin baggage (H56cm x W45cm x D25cm) and a small personal item. However, on domestic flights some airlines will charge you for carry-on, whereas some offer for free. Aerus carry-on policy is not known yet. However, it's very likely that it will allow you to bring a small personal item.

During international flights, some airlines will allow you to bring a free checked baggage that's included in the flight price. On domestic flights tend to charge you for checked baggage.

Food

Its highly likely that Aerus will provide food and beverages for you on-board that you can purchase during short-haul flights. On long-haul flights at least 1 meal will be provided to you free of charge depending on youre journey time.

Check-in

Online Check-In

Online check-in varies between airlines, this can be from 30 days to 24 hours before youre flight departure. Once Aerus has launched, this information will be provided to you according to your flight destination.

Most airlines offer a check-in service at the airport, for an easy process ensure to check-in online. Although the information is not yet available, check-in normally opens 3 hours before your flight departure time so ensure to allow enough time to arrive at the airport. This information will be available to you when the airline launches and should state on your itinerary.

Flota

The investment from the Herrera group will contribute towards a fleet of 14 Cessna aircrafts, with a total of 19 passengers on each flight.

 

Although Aerus has not launched yet, its commitment to the environment is already shining through as the aircraft chosen will have a reduction of 50% in carbon emissions by 2030.

Monterrey International Airport (MTY)

Monterrey International Airport (MTY) is situated in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico. The airport operates almost 300 daily flights to over 35 destinations in Mexico, Latin America and the United States. Over the years, Monterrey International Airport has seen a rapid growth, with over 8 million passengers in 2021, which was an increase of over 65% from 2020. This gave Monterrey International Airport the title of the second busiest airport in the north of Mexico and one of Latin America’s busiest airports. The airports busiests routes include: Mexico City, Cancun, Toluca, Houston, Leon, Hermosilloo and Jalisco.

This airport is also a base for VivaAerobús, Aeroméxico and Magnicharters, which are Mexico’s top operators.

The airport consists of 3 terminals: Terminal A, Terminal B, and Terminal C.

Terminal A

This is the main terminal for Monterrey International Airport. The airport is divided into 2, where one part operates domestic flights and the other operates international flights. At this terminal there are many services provided to you, such as shops, restaurants, cafes, free WIFI, baby change facilities and rental cars.

Terminal B

Being the newest terminal at the airport, terminal 3 hosts up to 2 million passengers a year. This terminal has over 10 gates and operates all SkyTeam airlines.

Terminal C

This terminal only operates the VivaAerobus carrier which focuses on low-cost domestic and international flights.

Its highly likely that Aerus will be operating in terminal A as its not VivaAerobus and its not part of the SkyTeam airlines member.
