Africa World Airlines set to be West Africa’s leading carrier

Africa World Airlines has announced its ambition to be the number-one regional airline in West Africa. Compared to many airlines on the continent, Africa World revolves around the frequency of its flights. The airline flies to Kumasi 10 times daily, Lagos up to six times daily, Tamala five times, and Takoradi four times.

The airline describes itself as faster, more comfortable and more convenient. Infact, the airline prides itself in often having a lower base fare than local buses.

Looking ahead for Africa World Airlines

The airline has stated that it is not currently focused on expanding its long-haul network. For international flights, the airline will rely on its growing number of partnerships.

Four partnerships have been announced so far: Brussels Airlines, Emirates, Ethiopian and South African Airways.

The airline is particularly excited as the partnerships will allow passengers to choose connections in Accra for whom Ghana may not have been an easy option otherwise.

As for future routes, Nigeria is on Ghana’s doorstop, so it’s very possible that new routes to Nigerian cities will be seen in 2020.
