The carry-on and checked baggage allowance rules for Air Niugini will vary depending on the cabin class you're flying in and the route you're flying. Read below to find out what size and weight restrictions you need to follow.
Baggage allowances for carry-on luggage are as follows for Business and Economy classes:
Business Class: Two cabin bags not exceeding 14kgs (30lbs). The sum total of three dimensions of both pieces must not exceed 50 x 30 x 20 cm = 100cm (40inches)
Economy Class: One cabin bag not exceeding 7kgs (15lbs). The total measurement must not exceed 50 x 30 x 20 cm = 100cm (40 inches)
In addition to baggage allowance, passengers are allowed a reasonable number of personal items, including a small handbag, overcoat/jacket/wrap, a small camera, and reading material.
Free checked baggage allowance will depend on route and ticket fare.
Economy passengers are entitled to 16kg on domestic routes, 25kg on routes to/from PNG-TYO, and 30kg on all other international routes - except on routes to/from North America, where 23kg per piece (2 pieces max).
Business passengers are entitled to 20kg on domestic routes, and 40kg on all other international routes - except to/from North America, where 2 pieces at 32kg each are allowed.

Economy Class - 16kg. Club Members - 25kg.
Business Class - 20kg. Club Members - 29kg.
To/From Brisbane, Cairns, Sydney:
Economy Class - 30kg. Club Members - 46kg.
Business Class - 40kg. Club Members - 56kg.
To/From PNG - Tokyo Narita:
Economy Class - 25kg. Club Members - 35kg.
Business Class - 40kg. Club Members - 45kg.
To/From North America:
Economy Class and Club Members - 2 x 23kg.
Business Class and Club Members - 2 x 32kg.
All other international routes:
Economy Class - 30kg. Club Member - 35kg.
Business Class - 40kg. Club Member - 45kg.
Online and airport check-in is available for Air Niugini flights. Opening and closing times vary.
Online check-in is available through the Air Niugini website. Online check-in is available from 24 hours up to 3 hours before your scheduled flight departure time.
For International flights: Passengers should check in 3 hours before their flight departure time.
For Domestic flights: Passengers should check in 2 hours before their flight departure time.
Most domestic routes have Economy Class only, while all international routes offer both service classes (except for services to Cairns and selected afternoon services to Brisbane).
Food: The airline offers food and beverages on almost all flights. On domestic routes, a snack and drink are served. On all international routes, a meal is served. The airline offers an in-flight Duty-Free shop on all international flights.
Entertainment: Stay entertained onboard as they offer entertainment on selected international routes. Most domestic flights offer movies and a range of music. Air Niugini also offers a magazine, "Paradise magazine", which is complimentary on most flights. The magazine, produced every 2 months, contains a range of Papua New Guinea information and stories, as well as flight details and route maps.

Business Class passengers enjoy more comfort. Air Niugini offers travellers extra baggage allowance, a lounge service for travellers to relax before their flights, and priority check-in and boarding.
Food: The airline's premium catering service delivers the crème de la crème of in-flight cuisine to those who travel in business class
Entertainment: Throughout your flight, you can keep entertained with Air Niugini's in-flight entertainment system and stay connected with friends and family via Wi-Fi connectivity.

Lounges are managed by Air Niugini VIP Lounge staff, serving a wide range of hot and cold buffet meals throughout the day.
On domestic routes, all passengers will receive a snack and drink. On all international routes, a meal is served.
Air Niugini offers passengers a range of special meals to meet their dietary, religious and medical requirements, on request.
Please note that these special meal requests are offered only on our International flights - special meals are not offered on our domestic flights. Passengers are welcome to bring their own snacks.
All special meals must be requested at least 24 hours in advance of scheduled flight departure. This can be done by selecting your chosen meal preference from the drop-down option during the Alternative Airlines booking process, or by contacting our customer service team.

Air Niugini offers entertainment on selected international routes, including flights to Cairns, Honiara, and Nadi, but passengers to Brisbane, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Singapore, Manila and Hong Kong are offered movies and a range of music. Entertainment is not usually provided on domestic flights. There is also an inflight magazine and duty-free shopping to keep passengers entertained.
Air Niugini has a loyalty program called Destinations. Passengers can earn points on all Air Niugini’s flights, as well as any one of the airline's growing number of partners. The program is free to join - although serious flyers can sign up for the program's executive club.
Collecting points: During the booking process, there is an option to select the frequent flyer program of your choice. Simply select 'Destinations' and add your personal Air Niugini membership number to add your points.
Air Niugini is not part of an airline alliance program.
Air Niugini has codeshare agreements with Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Solomon Airlines. Under a codeshare agreement, a flight might be ticketed by Air Niugini, but the actual flight will be operated by a partner airline or vice versa.
