Air North Yukon was founded in 1977 and is a domestic Canadian airline based in Whitehorse, Yukon. The airline's main base is at Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport. As well as scheduled flights, the company also operates charter flights throughout Canada and Alaska.
Air North is 100% owned by Yukoners, including the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation. When it was established, the initial intent was to offer charter flights to the mining industry. However, it didn't take long for the airline to expand this vision, and is now a leading tour and leisure carrier. The airline was named by Trustpilot as the 'Best Specialty and Leisure Airline' in North America in 2019, based on customer reviews.

On Southern routes, including Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Victoria, Ottawa, Vancouver, and Yellowknife:
Two pieces are permitted, with a maximum weight of 23kg (50lbs) per item. The maximum dimensions per item are 62 inches (157cm) (length + width + height).
On northern routes, including Dawson City, Inuvik, Mayo, and Old Crow:

Check-in opens 2 hours before departure for all domestic and international flights
Domestic flights: Passengers are required to check-in at least 60 minutes before the flight is due to depart. Check-in closes 30 minutes prior to departure.
International flights: Passengers are required to check-in at least 90 minutes before the flight is due to depart. Check-in closes 45 minutes prior to departure.
Online check-in is available from 24 hours to up to one hour before scheduled flight departure time. Passengers can check-in via the airline website.
Economy is the airline's standard cabin seat, accounting for the majority of the cabin. All passengers can enjoy a premium Economy experience, which includes light snacks, which are made daily by the airline's very own Whitehorse-based Flight Kitchen team. W/C facilities are available onboard
Seats are configured in a 3-3 formation. There is ample storage space under the seats and in the overhead compartments.
Although Air North does not offer a separate Premium Class cabin, it does offer a seat upgrade option which it calls 'Premium Seating'. There are two sections of Premium Seating on the airline's Boeing 737 aircraft, which passengers can select for a small additional fee. Premium Seating provides more legroom. Passengers are also able to embark and disembark first.
The GoYukon fare is the most basic fare with Air North Yukon. The fare is non-refundable after 24 hours of booking, and flight change and cancellation fees apply. 2 pieces of complimentary checked baggage are offered with this fare, and advance seat selection is available at an additional fee.
The Saver fare is non-refundable after 24 hours of booking but has lower flight change and cancellation fees than the GoYukon fare. As with GoYukon, 2 pieces of complimentary checked baggage are offered with this fare, and advance seat selection is available at an additional fee.
The Optimum fare is the most flexible fare offered by Air North Yukon. The fare is non-refundable after 24 hours of booking, and flight change and cancellation fees apply, however, these are lower than GoYukon and Saver fares. As with GoYukon and Saver fares, 2 pieces of complimentary checked baggage are offered with Optimum, and advance seat selection is included in the price of the ticket.
The airline serves light snacks, which are made daily by the airline's own Whitehorse-based Flight Kitchen team. Led by Chef Michael Bock, the airline's kitchen create delicious meals for passengers to enjoy.
Special meals can be requested at the time of booking or a minimum of 24 hours prior to the flight. The team can prepare meals to cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or dairy-free requirements.
Unfortunately, at this time the airline's aircrafts are not equipped with in-flight entertainment.
