Tufi Villagers exhibirá la cultura PNG en el Festival de Milán

The idea was brought to PNG Air manager commercial sales Linda Honey through Wantok Music in Brisbane, whom PNG Air supported to help PNG musicians let their voices and talent be heard in Australia and abroad.  Ms Honey was asked if she could put together a very real cultural group that was not commercialised but fulfilled the needs of indigenous music and passion created by tribal sounds. “The project which involved obtaining passports and visas has taken two years, but with the help of Morley Iewago who is an employee of EMTV, the dream is now a reality for 10 villagers from Tufi who will travel internationally to Milan, Italy, to attend the Lo Spirito del Pianeta festival, ” she said. Each year the festival showcases to the world tribal music and an indigenous awareness. The organisers have funded the group from Port Moresby through to Italy and will look after our people while they experience this amazing journey in their lives. “This year the Tufi group from PNG will extend to the festival an education about themselves, their village and their life in PNG and display the voice and sound of their culture. “When people have a heart and soul, the rest does not count, the world can change, when people of the heart come together. Today has changed 10 people’s lives forever” said Ms Honey.

El jefe de la aerolínea renuncia

This was announced by the company's board this week. PNG Air chairman Murray Woo thanked Siva for his five years of service, during which time the rebranding and initial stage of the refleeting program was successfully completed. Woo said that Siva's departure would allow someone with a new perspective and a different set of ideas to take the airline through the next stage of its development. PNG Air, formerly known as Airlines PNG, completed a rebranding exercise in late 2015 coinciding with the delivery of its first ATR 72-600.  Before a new CEO is chosen, PNG Air chief commercial officer Paul Abbot will hold the position in an acting capacity.

Vuelo a curriculum de Losuia

PNG Air plans to resume services to Losuia in Milne Bay when the airstrip and terminal facilities are fully repaired and operational. The facilities were vandalised during the recent general election forcing the airline to suspend flights. PNG Air said it conducted a trial flight recently to review the situation and inspect the repairs carried out by the Milne Bay government. The airline is now discussing with various parties outstanding issues which need to be resolved before full commercial operations can resume. "We are confident that the airstrip is operational and poses no safety risk to our crew, passengers or aircraft," chief commercial officer Paul Abbot said. "But we still require support and reassurance that the situation on the island has stabilised and there will not be a repeat of the unfortunate occurrences in July. "In addition, the terminal requires work to bring it up to an acceptable standard for our passengers. "With the cooperation of the provincial authorities and the government member for the local area, we are hopeful that flights will be able to resume reasonably soon," Abbot said.
