Las Vegas-based Allegiant is adding 34 new nonstop routes to its summer schedule. This network expansion comes as the airline seeks to benefit from the increased demand for travel to US domestic leisure destinations - a market which has seen the most increase following Coronavirus restrictions. As the summer season approaches, the airline expects this demand to increase due to further limitations on international travel.

Allegiant Air, a Las Vegas-based carrier, primarily operates routes to secondary destinations, which are not otherwise served by any other carriers. The airline has commented that such focus on underserved routes, the most popular travel days of the week for travel, and appealing to cost-conscious leisure travellers will be key to coming through the coronavirus strong. Most of the Allegiant's flights are to/from the most popular vacation destinations in Florida, as well as the southeast of the USA, and the western sun states of California, Nevada and Arizona. As travel resumes post-coronavirus, the airline should be set to thrive as more and more U.S. citizens choose not to fly abroad but discover what America has to offer.
8th September 2020

At the end of the day, it comes down to preference. Allegiant Air and Spirit both offer low-cost fares with little added amenities. The airlines offer a stripped-back service in order to keep their prices down.
Allegiant is better if you're looking for domestic flights traveling across the country. You can get Allegiant flights from pretty much all areas of the US.
Spirit is better if you're looking for flights flying out of Florida to other parts of the US or to the Caribbean and South America.
The best way to find out which airline is better is to take a flight on both of them and see which one you prefer!
Allegiant uses terminal 1 at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). All Allegiant flights either depart or arrive at this airport.
Occasionally, a schedule change might cause Allegiant to change terminals. So, if you've got a flight booked from LAX, it's best to check a flight tracker either on the Los Angeles International's or Allegiant Air's website.
Allegiant flight tickets are cheaper than some other airlines because it flies with a very low-cost structure. It only charges for the ticket/seat and includes no added extras on the flight (such as baggage, seat selection, food etc), which allows it to sell the seats of its tickets at a lower cost.
Allegiant also flies to a lot of secondary cities and airports. The landing fee at these airports are generally lower than at the major airports, which is another reason why it can afford to sell its flights at a cheaper rate.
