About ATA Airlines

ATA Airlines was an American airline that used to also be called American Trans Air. It was a low-cost airline based at Indianapolis International Airport (formerly OneJet's hub) that also handled charter flights, ATA flew around the USA as well as some US territories such as Puerto Rico. ATA's also flew to 35 international destinations such as Mexico. The airline declared bankruptcy in 2008 and unfortunately never recovered.


Destinos

Before it ceased operations, ATA Airlines flew to a broad range of destinations including the United States, Albania, the Caribbean, Ireland, Latvia, Mexico, Nigeria and Northern Ireland.

ATA Airlines also used to operate charter flights to London Gatwick Airport, London Stansted Airport and Manchester Airport in the UK.


Flota

ATA Airlines operated the following aircraft before suspending operations:

  • 12 x Boeing 737-800
  • 6 x Boeing 757-200
  • 4 x Boeing 757-300
  • 3 x Lockheed L-1011-500 TriStar (for military charter operations)
  • 4 x McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 (for military charter operations)
