Historia

Avianca Brasil is a Brazilian airline which operates passengers services within Brazil and South America, on behalf of Avianca. Avianca Brasil flies to many destinations including: Alta Foresta, Aracaju, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Campo Grande, Chapeco, Cuiaba, Curitiba, Florianopolis, Fortaleza, Goiania, Illheus, Ji-Parana, Joao Pessoa, Maceio, Natal, Passo Fundo, Petrolina, Porto Alegre, Porto Velho, Salvador, Bogota and Mexico City. The airline's legal name of the airline remains OceanAir, however, it has been rebranded as Avianca since it is owned by Synergy Group, which owns Avianca Holdings. Avianca Brasil's main bases are Brasilia and Sao Paulo-Guarulhos Airports. Avianca Brasil operates passenger services from 25 destinations.

Avianca also has other brands, such as Avianca Costa Rica (previously known as LACSA Airlines), Avianca Argentina and Aerogal Avianca Ecuador.

Airport Check-In

For domestic flights, passengers must check in 60 minutes before departure. For international flights, check-in must be done two hours before departure.

 


 

Economy Class

Currently, Economy class is the only fare offered on Avianca Brasil flights. It offers passengers a simple yet enjoyable flying experience, with a good balance between amenities and price.

Economy Class Facilities

On board your flight you will receive complimentary food and drinks as part of the service (subject to the flight schedule and duration). In the seats, there are power and USB outlets and on-board headphones for passengers to use their personal devices. There is also a selection of on-board entertainment, with TV shows, music and audio, documentaries and newspapers. To watch the provided entertainment, passengers will either have a personal screen or a communal suspended screen (depending on the aircraft type).

Economy Class Seats

This airline provides comfortable seats no matter the aircraft flying on. Seats on this airline will have at least a working space of 73cm, with even more in the emergency exit rows.

Passengers are also able to purchase an extra seat to have extra room to enjoy your flight. Alternatively, passengers can upgrade to a ‘Favourite Seat’, which are located in the exit rows and emergency exits. These offer priority boarding and additional comforts on board the plane.

El CEO de Avianca reflexiona sobre 2017 huelga

El gerente general de Avianca, Hernán Rincón, se reunió recientemente con CNBC para analizar el impacto de la huelga de los empleados de Avianca el año pasado. La huelga duró 51 días y algunos vuelos se suspendieron debido a la participación de varios pilotos. Sin embargo, un año después, Herman parecía positivo sobre el progreso que ha logrado Avianca desde la huelga. Afirmó que Avianca estaba bien preparada desde el punto de vista financiero antes de la huelga y esa es una de las razones por las cuales Avianca informó su primer trimestre más fuerte en cinco años para Q12018, a pesar de la huelga.

Herman dijo, "este caso llegó hasta la corte suprema y la corte suprema falló a favor de Avianca. Y ahora estamos en el proceso de reconstruir nuestras rutas y reconstruir nuestro cronograma. Hoy, estamos a punto de 95 % de capacidad, ya que se compara con lo que era antes de la huelga y estaremos a plena capacidad en unos tres meses ". Continuó diciendo que a largo plazo esto es algo bueno para Avianca. Todos dentro de la aerolínea ahora están en paz y la aerolínea continúa creciendo.

Herman también abordó su decisión reciente de posponer algunas de sus órdenes de aviones, "la razón por la que estamos pensando en posponer algunos de nuestros pedidos es diferente. Avianca lanza dos nuevas rutas a EE. UU.

Avianca will fly two new routes this summer, flying to both Orlando, Florida, and Boston, MA. The Colombian carrier will begin a service between San Jose, Costa Rica and Orlando starting agosto 2. The flight will run three times a week, both ways, with a stopover in Guatemala. Additionally, the airline will also fly between El Salvador and Boston four times a week, this service will start from agosto 17.
