Who doesn’t love a day at a water park? We’ve found some of the most remarkable water parks in the world. From lapping up the waves and plunging down vertical drops or winding around lazy rivers, there are loads of thrills to be found in water parks. We’ve found some of the globe’s wettest and wildest parks and the cool thing is, they’re all suitable for anyone who likes a dip in the water.

Spain, Europe

Siam Park, Tenerife

First opened by the Princess of Thailand, Siam Park truly is royalty among all water parks. The park is Spain’s most amazing water park and possibly the best water park in the world; after all, it has been ranked number one on TripAdvisor over the past four years. The Thai themed water park in Tenerife is one you cannot afford to miss out on.

There are 30 breathtaking rides to choose from, many of them so exciting that even the biggest thrill junkie will be pleased when riding them. The park’s most popular ride is the 27 metre high Tower of Power, this ride will get your heart pounding as you plunge down a vertical drop reaching speeds close to 50 mph, before shooting through an underwater aquarium filled with stingrays and sharks. Other thrills include four-person raft rides and The Wave Palace, which has some of the biggest artificial waves in the world, reaching up to three metres high. Surfing lessons in the park's wave pool are also offered for those looking for a calmer activity.

Top tip: Fast track passes are great to help you maximize your time at the park.

Dare to try Climax (Asia’s steepest slide), Smashdown 2.0 with a terrifying 26 metre drop or Pipeline, a clear tube slide that whizzes you around twists and turns. There's also a beautiful lazy river encompassed by tropical plants for a spectacular calming ride where you can make the most of the lovely Balinesian weather.

Waterbom water park is sure to be a memorable experience for everyone from the thrill-seekers looking for frightening slides, to young ones who would rather have calmer splash pools to play in. The water park categorises its rides from ‘light’ to 'extreme' so you can choose what’s right for you.

Beach Park, Aquiraz

Just off Porto das Dunas beach in Aquiraz, Beach Park is the largest water park in Latin America, spreading across 42 acres of land. With a selection of pools, plenty of sensational slides and a lazy river, there’s something to suit everyone.

This water park is popular for its towering water slide Insano. It's one of the tallest in the entire world standing a whopping 14 storey high where daredevils drop down at petrifying speeds close to 65 mph. If this doesn’t get your heart pumping, what will! The Water Circus is an enjoyable experience for the young ones with water cannons, seesaws, fountains and slides.

Aquaventure Water Park, Dubai

Dubai has plenty of great water parks, but this is simply one of the best. Dubai’s Aquaventure water park is the largest water park in the Middle East. This water park is home to the world's widest water slide, the Middle East's longest zip line and the Middle East's longest river ride which is nearly 2.5 kilometers long.

The park's other highlights include several water coasters, 700 meters of private beach and the Shark Lagoon, where guests can feed stingrays. The park is fully packed with slides, in addition to a special children’s play area, keeping everyone happy. If you’re feeling brave, you should take the underwater shark walk with the full scuba diving gear on.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Orlando

If Disney World and Epcot are not enough for you, Disney also has an amazing water park in Orlando. Typhoon Lagoon is one of the most visited water parks in the world. It’s home to the world’s biggest outdoor wave pools, where visitors learn to hang ten in a private surf session. Sounds cool!

Not forgetting to mention slides, pools, waterfalls, surf rides, tube rides and much much more. This Disney park gives you everything you may need for a thrilling time out that all the family would love. You may even see a few surprise appearances along the way, for instance Lilo & Stitch who will be managing a tropical party in the summer!
