Bonza is an ultra-low-cost domestic airline in Australia. They're planning to begin flights by octubre 2022 and are currently expecting to receive their Air Operator's Certificate (AOC). The airline is aiming to offer customers services between unserved destinations as well as offering low ticket prices. The airline plans on initially beginning services to 17 destinations across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, offering 27 route pairs. The airline is headed on the Sunshine Coast and plans on basing the majority of its services from Sunshine Coast Airport with some additional operations at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport. Bonza has ordered and intends to use a fleet of Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft on all of its services.
Bonza plans to utilise the Fly Bonza app and have it as the only place to book flights with the airline. The only exception is travel agents that are local to the Sunshine Coast.
CEO, Tim Jordan, has expressed interest for Bonza to operate to over 40 airports in various states and territories across Australia. The airline launched a survey for potential passengers to respond informing the company of their preferred destinations for the airline. As of mayo 2022, Bonza announced an initial route map of 27 routes spread across 17 destinations within Australia. Bonza states their focus will be on point-to-point travel, opting to avoid a stop-over. This is a model which Australian-based airlines tend to favour. The airline has also stated that currently, 93% of the routes that Bonza is flying to, are not already being served by other airlines.
