Brussels Airport is an international airport located in Brussels, Belgium. It's the busiest airport in Belgium and the main airport used for entering and departing from the country. Brussels Airport facilitates a mix of domestic flights around Belgium and international flights to countries within Europe, North America, Central America, Africa and Asia.
Brussels Airport is a hub for both Brussels Airlines and TUI fly Belgium.
The airport's origins date back to the 1940s when the first runways were built on the airspace. Since then, the airport has undergone a number of renovations, with the most notable updates being new terminal buildings built in 1948 and 1994.

Runways
The airport has three different runways, all of which are used for commercial flights.
The airport's preferred runways are 07R/25L (3,211 m in length) and 07L/25R (3,638 m in length), with its third runway, 01/19 (2,987 m in length), being used less frequently.
Terminals
Brussels Airport has one terminal building, which consists of multiple floors and has two piers connected to it — Pier A and Pier B.
The terminal has a station on its lowest floor (-1) and the ground floor (0) has the main exit/entrance to the airport. Arrivals are on the second floor (2) and departures are on the third floor (3).
Pier A
Pier A is the newer of the two Piers at the airport. The Pier was originally built with the intention to facilitate only Schengen flights, however, since 2008 airlines have flown to Pier A from non-Schengen countries as well.
Pier B
Pier B is exclusively used for flights outside of the Schengen area, however, there are also some non-Schengen flights facilitated at Pier A.

How to get to Brussels Airport
By driving
There are car rental and parking facilities available at the airport.
Travelling by car from the centre, you must take the Reu Belliard, through the tunnel and onto the E40. From there, off the Sint-Stevens-Woluwe interchange, follow the signs for the airport.
By bus
The Airport Line bus route 12 runs from Brussels City centre to the airport Monday–Friday, where Airport Line bus route 21 runs from Brussels city centre to the airport on Saturdays and on holidays.
De Lijn bus companies provide services to the airport from Brussels North train station on lines 272 and 471, from NATO on lines 272, 471 and 620 and from Roodebeek metro station on lines 359 and 659.
By train
The Brussels Airport Express train connects the airport with Brussels Midi, Brussels-Central and Brussels north stations and takes around 20 minutes.
By taxi
There are many taxi companies in Brussels that will take you from the city centre to the airport. These can be preordered online or by phone. There are also many taxi apps that you can use, such as Uber, ecab and Collecto.
