About Buffalo Niagara International Airport
Buffalo Niagara International Airport is an international airport serving ther areas of Buffalo, New York and also the Golden Horseshoe region of Ontario, Canada.
The aiport is New York State's third-busiest, and also the busiest in the New York City area.
BUF was first opened in 1926 where it was named Buffalo Municipal Airport, making it one of the United States' oldest public airports. The airport was renamed to Greater Buffalo International Airport in 1955 after a terminal expansion, and again renames in 1997 to its current state after further expansion of the airport with a new terminal.
Buffalo Niagara International Airport Location
The airport is located in Cheektowaga, about 19km east of Downtown Buffalo, and 97km southeast of Toronto. Its exact locaiton can be seen on the interactive map below:

The total airport covers 1,000 acres of land, but the only airport terminal is fairly small. However, BUF manage to put a lot facilities in a fairly small space.

Terminals
There is currently only one terminal at BUF, although there has been other ones in the past. The current terminal was built in 1997, as it was decided that it was more logical to build a completely new terminal rather than continue renovating the previous ones. The new terminal cost $56 million, although it was further expanded in 2001 to increase the total number of gates to 24.
