Bulgaria Air is the national carrier of Bulgaria. The airline is based at Sofia Airport (SOF) and flies to several destinations across Europe.
The airline launched flights in 2002 as a government-owned airline named Balkan Air Tour. In 2006, the airline was privatised but remained its status as the national carrier of Bulgaria.
Overall, the airline flies to more than 25 destinations, flying short-haul and medium-haul flights across the continent. Bulgaria Air had previously flown to destinations outside of Europe, including to Tirana, Cairo, Tripoli, Beirut, Skopje and Dubai. However, it recent years, it decided to stop flying intercontinental routes and focus solely on flights within Europe.

Passengers in Economy Class are entitled to one free carry-on bag of up to 10 kg.
Passengers in Business Class are entitled to two items of free carry-on baggage with a combined total weight of 15 kg.
No one piece of baggage can exceed the dimensions of maximum dimensions of 55 cm x 40 cm x 20cm (21.6" x 15.7" x 7.8").
In addition to this, passengers can bring one personal item with them. The personal item can be a small backpack, handbag, purse, laptop and bag etc. and must be able to fit underneath the seat in front of the passenger.
Passengers in Business Class are entitled to two items of free checked baggage, with a maximum weight of 32 kg per piece.
Passengers in Economy Class are entitled to one item of free checked baggage, with a maximum weight of 23 kg.

Online check-in is available through the Bulgaria Air online check-in page. Passengers can check-in online by clicking the 'online check-in' tab and entering their e-ticket number and last name.
Online check-in is open from 24 hours before scheduled flight departure time up until two hours before.
Airport check-in can be completed by visiting one of the airline check-in agents at the check-in desk with the relevant travel documents. Check-in times differ depending on the airport of departure. However, it usually opens two hours before departure time and closes 45 minutes before.
Passengers in economy receive a full-service, with the airline's friendly cabin crew on-hand to help.

What are Business Class Seats Like?

Economy Class passengers are offered food and drink during their flight. Passengers can choose from an alcoholic, non-alcoholic, hot and cold drinks, as well as a selection of sandwiches and a chocolate dessert.
