Cobalt Airlines, also known as Cobalt Aero, was the flag carrier of Cyprus, based at Larnaca International Airport in Larnaca, Cyprus. The airline operates a route structure across the UK, Ireland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain, Israel, Greece and Moscow. Cobalt Aero does not only bring the world to Cyprus as an attractive destination but also uses Cyprus as a hub to connect Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe.
Cobalt Airlines was founded in 2015 after Cyprus Airways went into liquidation. The airline operated its first service in July 2016 from Larnaca to Athens and in March 2017, Cobalt Airlines announced it was commencing flight services from Paphos to Athens. Cobalt Airlines is redefining the low-cost travel sector by combining the price flexibility and cost advantages of the low-cost carrier business model with a high-tech in-flight service delivery. The airline was strategically positioned from its headquarters in Cyprus, Cobalt Airlines services a market of over a billion potential travelers with a product to appeal to both business and leisure travel segments.
Cobalt Airlines flew to the following destinations including Zurich, Birmingham, Manchester, London Stansted, Moscow, Beirut, Tel Aviv, Dublin, Tehran, Madrid, Brussels, Paris, Chania, Heraklion, Paphos, Thessaloniki, Athens, Larnaca and Moscow. Additionally, the airline had special rights to the East and South of Europe.
Cobalt Airlines permit one piece of cabin baggage per person. This item must be no larger than 56 x 45 x 25cm and weigh no more than 10kg.
Cobalt Airlines do not include any free checked baggage, however, passengers are permitted to purchase up to three items of luggage per passenger. You can choose to purchase three 15kg bags or three 20kg bags.
Cobalt Airlines offered online check-in for certain routes. Check your booking confirmation if you are unsure if you can check-in online.
Online check-in is open up to 4 hours prior to scheduled departure time.
If unable to check in online, passengers must check in at the airport check-in desk. Cobalt Airlines ask passengers to arrive with plenty of time to ensure that you will have enough time to check-in and pass through security.
Cobalt Airlines Hub Airport
Larnaca International Airport is one of Cyprus’ two commercial airports and the country’s main gateway. It is located 4 km southwest of the city of Larnaca. Airlines that operate from this airport include the new Cyprus Airways (Formerly Charlie Airlines), TUS Airways and Eurowings.
