Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (IATA: DFW)  is an international airport that serves 69 million passengers each year. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the second-largest airport by land area in the United States, after Denver International Airport

The airport opened for commercial service on enero 1974 as Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport. The airport has an area of 17,207 acres and owns seven runways. 

From abril 2019, the Airport has services to 249 destinations, with 62 international and 187 domestic destinations within the U.S. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is the primary hub for American Airlines (the airlines largest hub), Ameriflight and USP Airlines and a focus city for Boutique Air, Spirit Airlines and Sun Country Airlines.

The airport is located 20 miles (32.1 km) northwest of Dallas, Texas and 22.6 miles (36.3 km) northeast of Fort Worth, Texas.

Terminal A

Terminal A has 26 gates. The terminal is fully occupied by American Airlines for domestic flights and some international departures. 

Terminal B

Terminal B has 47 gates. American Eagle has full operation of Terminal B. The TRIP improvements, a new (10-gate stinger concourse) off of Terminal B was built between gates B28 and B33 to accommodate growth. The stinger concourse makes Terminal B the largest terminal at the airport in terms of the number of gates.

Terminal C

Terminal C has 28 gates. American Airlines operates all the gates at Terminal C.  

Terminal D

Terminal D was first opened on julio 2005 and currently has 28 gates. It's the airport's international terminal, handling 32,000 passengers each day which is 11.7 million passengers each year. 

Terminal E

Terminal E has 36 gates. The terminal is used by all United States based carriers at the airport.

How to get to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport


By Road

Many companies offer taxicab service at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. If you need a taxi, simply follow the signs leading to the upper level of Terminals A, B, C and E; and on the lower level of Terminal D. It takes around 25 minutes from and to Dallas city by taxi which is around the same time when travelling to Fort Worth city centre.

By Public Transport

The Orange Line runs from the airport station to stops in downtown Dallas, the airport station is connected to entry A10 at the lower level of Terminal A via a walkway. Trinity Railway Express, or TRE, is a commuter train line that runs between Dallas Union Station and downtown Fort Worth, stopping at the airport station along the way. 

By Rental Car

You can rent a wide range of cars from the many car hire companies in the Rental Car Center, located near the south entrance of the airport. The facility operates every hour seven days a week. Companies such as Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, E-Z, Hertz, National, Payless, Sixt and Thrifty all serve customers at the airport.
