The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (also referred to as ‘Afcon 2021’) will be hosted by Cameroon and will take place from 9 enero to 6 febrero 2022.
The tournament was delayed in 2021 and moved to 2022 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, whilst retaining the name ‘2021 Africa Cup of Nations’ for sponsorship purposes.
The Africa Cup of Nations is a biennial international men's football championship of African nations, organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Algeria won the previous 2019 tournament and are the defending champions.

Six stadiums in Cameroon have been selected to host the Afcon matches. These venues are: Olembe Stadium and Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, in the capital Yaounde; Japoma Stadium in Douala; Limbe Stadium in Limbe; Kouekong Stadium in Bafoussam; and Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
Both the opening and final match of the tournament are will be held Olembe Stadium in Yaoundé — a newly built venue with a 60,000 seating capacity.

The Africa Cup of Nations tournament was originally scheduled to take place between 9 enero and 6 febrero 2021. Preliminary rounds have already been played (Oct-noviembre 2019), including the qualifying group stage, with the third and fourth matchdays of the qualifying group stage postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa. In junio 2020, it was announced that the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations was to be rescheduled to enero 2022. The tournament will maintain its '2021' name.
