About Fly Arna

Fly Arna is a new startup airline, set to launch as Armenia’s new national flag carrier. The carrier will likely operate both domestic and international flights to the country.

Fly Arna is being established by Air Arabia Group, along with other investors, as a low-cost scheduled passenger carrier. It is also known that the airline will be based at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport (EVN), the international airport serving Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

As it has yet to submit an application for an Air Operator Certificate (as of septiembre 2021), information is still limited. The airline will likely submit an application before the end of 2021, meaning more information (including fleet, and an initial destination network) will follow shortly. The airline hopes to commence flights for the summer season in 2022.

Armenia announces a new national carrier

Despite the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic, which has caused disruption to the travel industry around the world, the investors behind Fly Arna are confident about the future. The new airline will serve Armenia’s vision of a fast-growing travel and tourism sector, and will mark a new era in the country’s aviation sector.

A new joint venture for Air Arabia

Fly Arna, the new Armenian airline, will be Air Arabia's second joint venture airline project. It will follow Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, which is a joint venture between Air Arabia and Etihad Airways and was previously unveiled in julio 2020. Despite the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic, by mid-2021 the airline announced that it had swung into quarterly profit, as revenue more than quadrupled. This news came as passenger traffic has been increasing across all of the airline’s bases, as air travel continues to recover.
