Flyr is an airline based in Oslo, Norway, at Oslo Airport (OSL). The airline started operating in summer 2021. The founder of the company is a former Braathens owner Erik G. Brathens, and has an aim to bring more choices for customers in Europe as well as the domestic market, which is currently dominated by Norwegian and SAS Scandinavian Airlines. Making travel easy, safe and simple is the ultimate aim for the airline. Flyr has chosen to operate narrowbody Boeing 737 aircraft.
Flyr began operations with its first flight from Oslo to Tromsø Airport with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The airline is offering flights to other European destinations including Alicante, Bergen, Bodø, Harstad, Malaga, Nice, Tromsø and Trondheim.
The airline's route network will expand as Flyer expands its fleet size over the coming years. Flyr is flying to domestic destinations within Norway and destinations in France and Spain including Nice, Malaga and Alicante.

Personal items can be items such as a handbag, a backpack and a laptop. It must not exceed 8kg or larger than 38cm x 30cm x 20cm.
Carry-on baggage must not weigh heavier than 10kg and it must not be larger than 55cm x 40cm x 23cm. Larger or heavier items must be transported as checked baggage.
If the overhead lockers are full, passengers will be offered to transport their item as checked baggage for safety reasons.
No prohibited items are allowed onboard including any fluid exceeding 100ml unless it's baby milk and food. Carry-on baggage must fit the overhead locker or under the seat.
Free baggage must not be heavier than 23kg per piece. Depending on the ticket purchased, passengers may get no checked baggage, two 23kg or three 23kg baggage.
Any baggage exceeding maximum dimensions set out by the airline and/ or heavier than 32 kg (70lbs) would not be accepted by the airline as checked baggage due to international health and safety regulations.
Online check-in is available via the airline website and it's available from 24 hours before the scheduled departure time. Passengers are advised to check-in online to save time queuing at the airport.

Passengers flying domestic routes must check-in 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Passengers flying international flights must check-in 45 minutes before departure.
We encourage passengers to arrive at the airport two hours before the established flight departure time. Passengers should report to the airline check-in area as soon as they arrive, especially if they are not familiar with the airport layout. Airport check-in counters should be labelled with the airline name and logo.
Passengers must board the aircraft 20 minutes before the flight departure time.
Flyr offers three fare classes, Mini, Smart and Flex. The three fare classes have different offerings on baggage allowance and flexibility on the ticket.
Mini fares passengers can change their tickets up to three days before the travelling dates and free carry-on baggage.
Smart tickets can change their tickets up to three days before the flight and passengers can select a seat.
Flex passengers receive priority check-in and boarding, free seat allocation on row 2-6 and they are entitled to a full refund.
Flyr doesn't currently offer a frequent flyer programme.
Flyr isn't part of any airline alliances.
Flyr will initially operate a fleet of 5 Boeing 737, with plans to build a 30-strong fleet of leased aircraft in the long-term.
Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) is also referred to Gardermoen Airport or Oslo Airport serving the capital of Norway - Oslo. It's also a hub airport for Norwegian, Norse Atlantic Airways, SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Widerøe. In 2019, the airport was accommodating 28.6 million passengers to over 180 destinations with two active runways and one passenger terminal.

Flyr, a new Norwegian stat-up carrier, will start service in June with two Boeing 737-800 airplanes. The low-cost carrier hopes to make it more affordable than ever from travellers to fly domestically. The airline has been described as 'mobile-first', because of its focus on developing an easy-to-use app to help passengers manage their bookings. In the long-term, the airline hopes to also expand into the international market.
