Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (IATA: FLL) is an airport located in Florida, United States. It is surrounded by the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood and Dania Beach. Despite the other airport in the region, Miami International Airport, still handling most long-haul flights, FLL is now an international gateway with over 700 daily flights.

The airport is Spirit Airline’s largest base, and is also a hub for airlines such as JetBlue and Silver Airways. In addition, FLL is the focus city for airlines such as Allegiant Air, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Southwest Airlines. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport if the US’ 18th busiest airport for passenger traffic, and is in the world’s top 50th busiest airports. For example, in 2018 the airport handled 35.9 million passengers, which was a 10% increase on the previous year.

Terminals

There are currently three operational terminals at this airport. Although a fourth used to be in service, it was closed and demolished in 2017. There are currently plans for this airport to be reconstructed.

Terminal 1 - Yellow / “New Terminal”

The Yellow Terminal has three concourses and a total of 23 gates. This is the location of the United Club lounge, operated by United Airlines. Other airlines using this terminal include Swoop, Silver, Alaska, Copa, WestJet, Southwest, Allegiant and Bahamasair

Terminal 2 - Red / “Delta”

The red terminal is the smallest of the terminals, with only one concourse and 9 gates. It is solely used by Delta and Air Canada, with Delta having their Sky Club here.

Terminal 3 - Purple / “Main Terminal”

The Purple Terminal has two concourses and 20 gates, and is used by JetBlue, Azul, Emirates, American and Norwegian. There is a foodcourt at this terminal which opened in mayo 2013.

You can access all terminals of the airport by road via US Route 1. Other roads that are near are Florida State Road 818, Interstate 95 and Interstate 595.

By Rail
