About Hokkaido Air System

Hokkaido Air System, also known as HAC, is a Japanese airline based at Okadama Airport in Sapporo, it's the sister airline of JAL Japan Airlines. The regional airline operates scheduled services from Sapporo to other domestic airports in Japan. It's mainly operating on behalf of Japan Airlines.

Since the airline was founded in 1997, it belonged to Jan Air System but Japan Airlines have later acquired the company. As of enero 2021, the airline is now operating with 4 aircraft and serving six destinations in Japan.

As of enero 2021, Hokkaido Air System is only serving the domestic Japanese market including Hakodate, Kushiro, Misawa, Okushiri, Rishirifuji and Sapporo.

Passengers receive one piece of carry-on baggage as long as it doesn't exceed a maximum dimension of 115cm. One personal item will be allowed onboard as well as long as these items onboard can fit in the overhead lockers or under the seat. The total carry-on baggage permissible weight cannot exceed 10kg.

Equipaje Facturado

Every passenger is entitled to one piece of checked baggage weighing up to 20kg. First Class passengers have a free baggage allowance of 45kg. Baggage exceeding 32kg will not be accepted as checked baggage due to international health and safety regulations. All baggage has to fit within the dimension of 50cm x 60cm x 120.

Passengers hoping to buy excess baggage for its flight can do so when booking with Alternative Airlines. This can be done during the booking process or speak to our customer service team to assist.

Check-In Online

Online check-in procedure isn't necessary for Hokkaido Air System flights. Passengers can use the JAL Touch & Go system to board the aircraft.

Check-in can be completed via the airline check-in kiosk or at the airport counter. Check-in must be completed at the 20 minutes before scheduled departure time. At Alternative Airlines, we recommend passengers to arrive at the airport two hours before scheduled departure time.

Airline’s Fleet

As of enero 2021, Hokkaido Air System is operating with a fleet of ATR 42-600 and Saab 340B aircraft. These are twin-turboprop aircraft suitable for short haul operations serving niche markets. The Saab 340B will eventually be replaced by the ATR 42-600.


Aeropuerto Principal

Okadama Airport

Okadama Airport (OKD) is located 7km from the city of Sapporo. It's a regional airport that is used by commercial airlines, general aviation and the military. It's only able to handle turboprop aircraft like ATR42. It has one asphalt runway and a passenger terminal service the airlines. The only other two airlines fly to the airport includes Fuji Dream Airlines and Japan Airlines.
