About Indianapolis International Airport
Indianapolis International Airport (IATA: IND) is an international airport located just outside of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, United States. Within the United States, it is the 45th busiest in terms of passenger traffic, with 2018 seeing the airport serve 9.4 million passengers.
The airport was first opened as Indianapolis Municipal Airport in 1931, but was later renamed to Weir Cook Municipal Airport and then back to Indianapolis International Airport in 1976. The airport not only operates domestic flights within the U.S., but also international passenger services to destinations in Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic and France.

Colonel Harvey Weir Cook Terminal
In 2008, a new terminal opened at the airport to replace all previous passenger terminals. This terminal was named in honour of Col. Harvey Weir Cook and measures 1,200,000 square foot in size. This cost $1.1 billion to build, and has 44 domestic gates and 2 international gates.
