About LTU

LTU was a leisure airline based in Germany. The airline flew to just over 50 destinations around Europe, Asia and Africa.

LTU was founded in 1955 as Lufttransport Union and began operations in Frankfurt. LTU became one of the biggest German leisure airlines and operated most of its flights out of Düsseldorf.

In 2007, Air Berlin took over LTU which resulted in LTU ceasing operations altogether in 2009.
