About

NELLA Linhas Aereas, also known as NELLA Airlines or just 'NELLA' is a Brazilian low-cost airline that offers scheduled passenger flights. The airline will be based at Brasília International Airport (BSB) and will fly domestic flights within Brazil.

Although the airline flies in Brazil, it's technically not a Brazilian airline as it is registered in the US, making it the only non-Brazilian registered airline based in Brazil. The airline has been approved and plans to launch flights in the first half of 2021.

NELLA is yet to announce any routes but has plans to fly within and around the Midwest and Northeast regions of Brazil. Once the airline has launched, it plans to have three more hubs in addition to the one at Brasília International, with one in each of the North, Northeast and Midwest regions.

Although no routes or destinations have been announced for the airline, it plans to operate to destinations that have currently few or no flights at all and give the people of more remote destinations better options for flying.

NELLA has stated that it plans to strike codeshare or interline agreements with larger airlines so that it can feed into their route networks and offer connections to its passengers to larger destinations in Brazil or even to international destinations.

Destinos

There are no confirmed destinations for NELLA at this time. Although, it's expected to fly within the North, Northeast and Midwest regions of Brazil, focussing on destinations that are not served by or have few airlines serving them.

Equipaje

The baggage allowance for this airline hasn't been announced yet. Although, as a low-cost airline, it's expected that passengers won't be given a free checked baggage allowance.

As with most low-cost airlines, it's expected that passengers will be given a free carry-on baggage allowance of between 5–10 kg.

Aeropuerto

Passengers will be able to check-in at the airport of departure. Check-in times are unknown at this time.

Cabin Classes

Although no cabin classes have been confirmed, as a low-cost airline, it's highly likely that NELLA will only fly with an Economy cabin.

Because it plans to fly ATR aircraft, it's likely that seats will be uniform, with no extra legroom or premium seats.

Entretenimiento en vuelo

Although nothing is confirmed, because the airline is a low-cost airline offering short (domestic) flights, it's very unlikely that the airline will have an in-flight entertainment system installed on its flights.

Food and Drink

The airline is likely to offer onboard food and drink service. This will most likely consist of light snacks and drinks that passengers can purchase once in-flight.

Flota

NELLA plans to launch with four ATR 42-300s and will lease another four ATR 72s further down the line.

Aeropuerto Principal

Brasília International Airport

Brasília International Airport (BSB) is the main international airport in Brazil's capital, Brasília and the primary hub of NELLA Linhas Aereas. Brasília International will be the first hub and destination that the airline flies from when it launches, although, it has plans to add three additional hubs in other regions within Brazil once it has started flying. The airport has two runways and two terminals, named Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 1 is the domestic terminal at the airport, which means NELLA will fly from that terminal. The airport serves over 16 million passengers per year.

Other than NELLA Airlines, the airport is also a hub for GOL and LATAM Brasil. Other airlines that fly to/from the airport include Azul, Copa Airlines, Voepass and TAP Portugal.
