Pacific Airlines (formerly Jetstar Pacific) is a Vietnamese airline that flies scheduled passenger flights throughout parts of east Asia. The airline is based at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Hanoi and flies to more than 15 destinations overall, with a mix of domestic and international destinations within its route network.
The airline launched as Pacific Airlines in 1991. The airline initially began flying cargo flights but launched passenger flights in the years following. In the late 2000s, Qantas acquired Pacific Airlines, made it part of Jetstar and turned it into a low-cost airline, re-named and rebranded as Jetstar Pacific.
After the airline rebranded, it continued to expand its route network and solidified is position as one of the leading low-cost airlines flying out of Vietnam. Vietnam Airlines partially bought the airline from Qantas in the mid-2010s and then increased its ownership to almost fully owning the carrier in 2020. Along with the acquisition from Vietnam Airlines, the airline rebranded back to its original name and brand Pacific Airlines and dropped all association with the Jetstar brand.
Pacific Airlines has been operating all flights under the Pacific Airlines brand and name since.
Passengers are given a free carry-on baggage allowance of 7 kg per person. The baggage must not exceed the dimensions of 56 cm (H) x 36 cm (W) x 23 cm (D) (20" x 14" x 9"). In addition to this, passengers can bring an additional item of baggage such as a handbag, small backpack or any item that doesn't exceed the dimensions of 40 cm (H) x 30 cm (W) x 15 cm (D) (15" x 12" x 6").
Checked baggage allowance differs depending on the route flown. Most flights (domestic) do not give a free checked baggage allowance and any checked baggage that a passenger needs will need to be purchased prior to the flight or at the airport.
Some international routes allow a free checked baggage allowance but it depends on the route. The baggage allowance will be displayed to passengers at the time of booking or can be found on their e-ticket.
Economy Class is the only cabin class that Pacific Airlines flies with. The cabin offers a stripped-back service, which is designed to get passengers safely and reliably to their destination at a great value.
Seats in Economy Class are comfortable and set out in a 3 x 3 formation.
Passengers can check-in online for their flight through the Vietnam Airlines online check-in page. Online check-in opens 24 hours before scheduled flight departure time and closes one hour before. To check-in, passengers will need to enter their PNR, surname and email address.
Passengers can also check-in at the airport and in-person by visiting the airline check-in agents at the airport of departure. Airline check-in agents are located at the airline check-in counters of the airline. Passengers must bring their booking details and passport (international) or government photo ID (domestic) in order to complete check-in.
For international flights, check-in counters open three hours before scheduled flight departure time and close 50 minutes before.
For domestic flights, check-in counters open two hours before scheduled flight departure time and close 40 minutes before.
The airline offers an in-flight catering service that consists of light snacks and beverages but not a full meal service.
Food and drink are available to purchase in-flight or may be available as an add-on request at the time of booking.
As a low-cost airline, Pacific Airlines doesn't have an in-flight entertainment system or WIFI installed on its planes.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) is the main international airport in Vietnam's capital, Hanoi and the hub airport for Pacific Airlines. The airline has used Tan Son Nhat International as its primary hub since for the majority of the time that it has flown. The airport itself has two runways and — like many other major international airports in the region — one domestic and international terminal.
Tan Son Nhat International is also the hub for VietJet Air, Vietnam Airlines, Vietravel Airlines, Bamboo Airlines and VASCO. There are many other airlines that fly to/from the airport and don't use it as a hub, such as Air France, China Airlines, Edelweiss Air, Fly Gangwon, indiGo, Lao Airlines, Royal Brunei, Sichuan Airlines, Thai Airways, XiamenAir and many more.
The airline has a fleet that consists of all Airbus A320-200. It has more than 15 planes within its fleet.
Pacific Airlines has two major codeshare agreements with its current and previous parent airlines, Vietnam Airlines and Qantas.
These codeshare agreements allow easier connectivity for passengers of the three airlines involved.
