Philadelphia International Airport (IATA: PHL) is a major international airport in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The airport has service to cities in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Middle East. In summer 2019, there were flights from the airport to 140 destinations (102 domestic and 38 international). The airport has an area of 2,584 acres and owns 4 runways. Philadelphia International Airport is the primary hub for American Airlines and USP Airlines and a focus city for Frontier Airlines.

Terminal A

Terminal A is broken up into two sections, east and west. Terminal A (West) has 13 gates, whilst Terminal A (East) has 11 gates. It first opened in 2003 as the new international terminal, it is home to American Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Icelandair and Qatar Airways. Terminal A (East) originally the airport's international terminal opened in 1990 and is now used by Aer Lingus and American Airlines as well as international arrivals for Frontier Airlines.

Terminal B and C

These are the oldest terminals which were first opened in 1953. Terminals B and C has 15 gates in total. There are two main terminals used by American Airlines. The Terminals are connected together by a shopping mall and food court named the Philadelphia Marketplace. The facilities of this terminal are quite modern and dining options on the concourses are also available.

Terminal D

Terminal D first opened in 1973 and has 16 gates in total. a variety of shops and restaurants. Terminal D is hosts airlines such as Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Delta and United. This terminal is connected to the shopping area of Terminals B and C through a post-security walkway.

Terminal E

Terminal E opened in 1977 and has 17 gates. It hosts the following airlines Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest, and Spirit Airlines.

Terminal F

Terminal F first opened in 2001 and has 38 gates in total. It's the second newest terminal in the airport. The terminal is a regional terminal used by American Eagle.

How to get to Philadelphia International Airport

By Road

There are drop-off and pick-up areas at all terminals and short and long-stay multi-storey car parks you can use to park your car at a cost.

By Public Transport

You can use the many train routes the southern Pennsylvania Transport Authority (SEPTA) operates high-speed line services running between each terminal and central Philadelphia's 30th Street station which is 25 minutes. In addition to this, there are many buses (37,108, 115) and free 24-hour shuttle services that operate and serve the 4 airport terminals.

By Rental Car

You can rent a selection of cars from car hire providers such as Avis, Dollar, Hertz, National and Enterprise. The facility operates every hour seven days a week.
