Venezolana, originally RAVSA, is a Venezuelan airline that flies passenger services to cities within Venezuela, as well as some international destinations. The airline has two hubs — Simón Bolivar International Airport and La Chinita International Airport, from where it flies domestically within Venezuela and internationally to destinations around the breathtaking Caribbean islands and Central America.

Venezolana was founded in 2001 under the name RAVSA. However, the airline didn't operate its first flight until 2007. By then, it had changed its name from RAVSA to Venezolana, as it's known as today. The airline flies to over five destinations overall, with its most popular route being between its two hubs Caracas (Simón Bolivar) and Maracaibo (La Chinita).

Equipaje de Mano

Each passenger is allowed to bring with one piece of carry-on baggage onto the flight with a maximum weight of 8kg. This baggage must fit within the maximum dimensions of 20 x 15 x 10 cm.

Passengers are allowed one piece of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 25kg.

Simón Bolivar International Airport

Simón Bolivar International Airport the main airport in Venezuela and is the hub for Venezolana. This has been the airline's primary hub, since its first flight in 2007. Although, the airline also uses La Chinita International Airport as a hub as well.

Simón Bolivar International is located in Maiquitia, Vargas, which is south of Caracas. The airport opened in 1945 and is split into two terminals — a domestic terminal and an international terminal.

The airport is also a hub for Transcarga International Airways.

Unfortunately, due to the political and economic unrest in Venezuela, many international airlines have stopped flying to Simòn Bolivar International. However, it is still served by some international airlines, including Air Europa, Air France, Plus Ultra Lineas Aereas, Rutaca Airlines and Wingo.
