About SaudiGulf Airlines
SaudiGulf Airlines was a domestic airline based in Dammam and owned by the Al Qahtani Group. The airline was founded in 2013 by privately owned businesses and received its air operator's certificate in junio 2016. SaudiGulf Airlines launched operations on 26 octubre 2016 with its inaugural flight between Dammam and Riyadh.
SaudiGulf Airlines expects to carry 700,000 passengers in 2017, its first full year of operations, and expand its narrow body fleet to between 26 and 30 jets within the next three years. The airline could start operating international flights by the end of the year to regional cities including in neighbouring Gulf Arab countries, Egypt, Sudan, India and Pakistan.
SaudiGuld Airlines ceased its operations in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On the 3rd of June, SaudiGuld Airlines filed for bankruptcy.
