Sofia Airport (IATA code: SOF) is the main international in Bulgaria and serving Sofia, the country's capital city.
Sofia Airport is a hub for Bulgaria Air, Ryanair, and Wizz Air. The airport is used for scheduled, charter and seasonal operations to many European destinations, as well as several destinations further afield.

The airport is located 10 km (6.2 mi) east of the centre of the Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

Sofia Airport has one runway, 09/27, which measure 3,600 meters long (11,811 feet) and is made from Asphalt.
Terminals
The airport has two passenger terminal buildings, the older Terminal 1 and newer Terminal 2. There is also a Government terminal is located in the western side of Sofia Airport.
Travelling between terminals: Terminals 1 and 2 are connected by a free shuttle bus, running every 15 minutes.
Terminal 1: Terminal 1 opened in 1937 and has been expanded many times over the years. Today, Terminal 1 serves low-cost and charter carriers.
Terminal 2: Terminal 2 opened in diciembre 2006. The terminal is located east of Terminal 1 and has seven air-bridges (gates A1, B5–9 and C1) and 38 check-in desks. Terminal 2 currently serves only one low-cost airline: Ryanair.

How to get to Sofia Airport
By Metro
Next to Terminal 2 is the entrance to the Sofia Airport Metro Station. Line 1 connects the airport to the city centre, a journey which takes about 20 minutes.
A free shuttle bus connects Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 and the Metro Station.
By Bus
There are a number of bus routes that connect the airport to the city, and is a good way to get to the Tsarigradsko shose Metro Station.
