South Pacific Airlines was a passenger airline based in Hong Kong. The airline was founded in 2017 and was expected to begin flying operations during the first half of 2019, however had shut down during their start-up phase. The airline was to be based at Hong Kong International Airport, and was rumoured to operate flights to destinations such as Fiji, New Caledonia, Tonga, French Polynesia and other islands in the South Pacific.
The airline had employed a number of people who were previously employed by airlines such as Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Airlines. They also had purchased an aircraft which was previously in use by Virgin Atlantic.

Hong Kong International Airport, also known as Chek Lap Kok Airport, is an international airport operating services mainly for commercial flights. The airport first opened in 1998 and is now one of the busiest airports for passenger traffic in the world, with 2017 seeing the airline deal with over 72.8 million passengers.
The airport is also the hub for airlines such as Air Hong Kong, Cathay Dragon, Air China and Hong Kong Airlines. The airport also operates services for other airlines such as Air Seoul, Air India, Malaysia Airlines and Peach.
