About Sunclass Airlines

Sunclass Airlines is a Danish airline that was founded in 1994. Originally commencing operations as Premiair, the airline went through numerous rebrands and frequent changes in ownership. After 8 years of operating as Premiair, the airline was rebranded into MyTravel Airways. In 2008 British travel group Thomas Cook acquired the airline and bringing it in line with the corporate identity of the wider group rebranded the airline into Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia. Finally, in 2019 the Thomas Cook Group entered into administration and ceased operations of all business and commercial activities, halting services for the airline for a few days. The airline was rescued by a consortium of investors and rebranded to Sunclass Airlines restarting services.

Today the airline operates to numerous holiday destinations across Europe as well as Asia and Africa offering a wide range of holiday hot spots to choose from. Similar to previous Thomas Cook Scandinavia, Sunclass also operates as a leisure airline, meaning that a large portion of their routes are seasonal and only operate when demand increases at certain times in the year. Use our flight search tool now to find out more. Although the airline is a Danish company the airline has 3 major operating locations. The airline operates numerous services from both Norwegian and Swedish cities as well as multiple services from Denmark and Finland. Sunclass and their investors inherited the fleet previously operated by Thomas Cook Scandinavia, meaning that the airline uses an all-Airbus fleet with the airline operating the A321 and A330.

Destinos

As of noviembre 2021, the airline operates to a host of European destinations with also some seasonal services to, The Gambia and Thailand. The airline previously also flew to Mexico, Vietnam, Egypt, Cuba, Jamaica and more.

Equipaje permitido

Hand Baggage

You are entitled to 2 pieces of cabin baggage. This should be 1 personal item as well as 1 cabin bag. The larger item of cabin baggage should not exceed 55x40x20cm and across both bags, the weight should be less than 6kg. You are allowed to redistribute this weight across your checked luggage if applicable. On some services, you may also have the option of purchasing a further 4kg of hand luggage to be used within the 2 items permitted.

Equipaje Facturado

The airline only includes checked baggage free of charge with certain ticket types and holiday packages, so please be aware of this prior to departure. If you are travelling with the airlines Economy Plus ticket then you are permitted to bring 1 suitcase weighing up to 20kg for free as well as your allowed cabin baggage. If you have chosen a Premium ticket then you are allowed to bring 1 suitcase of 25kg in weight. The airline notes that if your holiday lasts longer than 4 weeks you are allowed to bring an additional 10kg of weight.

Children are allowed 1 suitcase weighing 10kg but a baby's pram if required, free of charge. The airline allows you to combine your hand luggage allowance with your checked baggage. This means, instead of bringing a 20kg suitcase plus 6kg cabin baggage you could bring 1 26kg suitcase only. However, the airline states that no case should weigh more than 32kg, due to international rules. It is cheaper to pre-book overweight luggage online than it is at the airport, by up to 50%, so it may be recommended to do so if you know you need more luggage. The airline also allows you to bring 30kg of checked baggage if staying in a Sunwing Family Resort, Sunprime Hotel, Ocean Beach Club, Altamar or White Lagoon Beach Resort free of charge.

Travel Classes

Turista

Economy is the airlines base fare, which offers the least benefits included in the ticket. Seat selection and checked baggage come at additional expense, regardless of travelling long-haul or short-haul. If flying on an international service to further afield locations such as Thailand then you will receive a meal for free, but on short-haul services, this must be paid for. You can access the airline inflight entertainment with this ticket type. The economy cabin is laid out in 3x3 on the A321 and 2x4x2 on the A330. The seats in this travel class have a seat pitch of around 32" on both of their aircraft types.

Economy Plus

Economy Plus is the next ticket level up from their basic fare, however, you can expect to still sit in a standard economy seat. The difference with this fare type is that you receive a free meal on all services with the airline and are also provided with headphones for the entertainment system. Checked luggage is also included in the price of the ticket.

Premium

If you want to have a bit more luxury whilst flying the airlines premium offering may be a good option for you. On the A330 you will be sat in a separate cabin from economy with larger and more comfortable seats. You can expect the premium seats will have a pitch of around 34", premium seats are only available on the A330 and not A321. As with Economy Plus, you will also be provided with headsets for the inflight entertainment as well as an amenity kit. On all flights in premium, you will be treated to a 3-course meal with unlimited drinks throughout the flight, including alcohol and a welcome drink. When checking in you can make use of a dedicated check-in area as well as fast track through security. Meaning you can spend more time in the airport lounge included with this ticket. Premium will help you get your holiday started so search now for a good deal!

Wifi & Entertainment

Sunclass does have Wifi installed on their aircraft, free to use. However, this service only enables passengers to use the airline's in-flight entertainment system and not browse the internet. The airline allows you to log in to the wifi and watch tv, films and play games on their inflight entertainment portal online. The portal also includes the airline's inflight magazine and duty-free magazine. On longer flights with the A330 then you also have an at-seat inflight entertainment screen

Check-in Information

Online

The airline offers the option to check-in online. You are able to check-in from 24hrs before departure up till 2hrs prior. The airline recommends this option of check-in if you are travelling with hand luggage only as you can check-in and print your boarding card at home and head straight to the gate avoiding the queues. However, if you need to drop checked luggage you can still check-in online as normal and head to a bag drop desk at the airport.

At the airport

Sunclass also offers you the ability to check-in at the airport. This is beneficial for the return leg of your journey if you may not have the equipment available to do so online. You can head to one of the airline's check-in desks at the airport and drop your bags as well before heading through security.

Programa de viajero frecuente

As the airline operates as a leisure and tour operator, it doesn't have a frequent flyer program for you to subscribe to.
