Historia de Sunrise Airways

Sunrise Airways is an airline based in Haiti which provides commercial and charter flights. Sunrise Airways flies to many destinations: Cap-Haitien, Jacmel, Jeremie, Kingston, Les Cayes, Mole Saint Nicolas, Montego Bay, Pignon, Port-au-Prince, Port-de-Paix, Providenciales, Santiago de los Caballeros and Santo Domingo. From its hub in Port-au-Prince, Sunrise Airways operates daily scheduled passenger flights serving Orlando, Miami, Santo Domingo, Havana, Camaguey and Santiago de Cuba in Cuba; and Cap Haitien.

Additional new flights connecting Haiti with Curacao; Georgetown, Guyana; Kingston, Jamaica; Providenciales, Turks & Caicos; and Nassau, The Bahamas are planned for 2017-2018, pending government approval. In line with the expansion of its route network, Sunrise Airways has initiated service aboard a 150-seat Airbus A320 and a 168-seat Boeing 737-800. Sunrise Airways' fleet consists of Jetstream 31 and Jetstream 32 and the airline is rising to meet the progressively expanding demand for safe, reliable, and affordable air travel to and throughout the Caribbean. Headquartered in Port-au-Prince, Sunrise Airways is a privately-owned corporation with registered offices in Haiti.

Carry-on Baggage

Passengers on Sunrise Airways flights are given a free carry-on baggage allowance of 7kg per person. This is strictly one bag per person, with the maximum overall dimensions of 127 cm. In addition to this, Sunrise Airways allows passengers to take a maximum of three personal items, which must fit either in the overhead baggage compartment or under your seat.

Checked Baggage

Passengers on Sunrise Airways flights are given a free checked baggage allowance of 23kg. On routes to Cuba, passengers are given an extra 7kg of free baggage allowance (30kg overall).

In addition to this, passengers can also purchase up to three piece of additional baggage on any Sunrise Airways flight.

Airport Check-In

If passengers don't have access to online check-in, they can check-in at the airport by visiting one of the Sunrise Airways check-in counters. Airport check-in closes 40 minutes before scheduled flight departure time on international flights and 15 minutes before scheduled flight departure time on domestic flights. However, Sunrise Airways recommend that passengers arrive at the airport least two hours before departure time for international flights and at least one hour before departure for domestic flights, in order to allow for check-in, baggage drop and security check.

Sunrise Airways anunció que había entrado en la fase final de su proceso de solicitud para el lanzamiento de su primer vuelo a Jamaica.

The new flights proposed by Sunrise Airways from Jamaica will connect the three international airports with destinations in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Sunrise Airways expects to receive final approval from the Jamaican Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) by septiembre 1, 2016 for the launch of its new Jamaica flights during the fall of 2016. Sunrise Airways will deploy its flagship aircraft the ATR 42-320 on its new routes to Jamaica. Other airlines flying to the Dominican Republic include flycana, Liat and Dominican Wings.

Sunrise Airways amplió su servicio a Cuba en febrero 29, 2016, con el lanzamiento de sus primeros vuelos a Camaguey. La nueva ruta es la primera en presentar la nueva aeronave 46-asiento ATR 42-320, que se agregó a la Flota de Sunrise febrero 26, 2016. 

Los nuevos vuelos de Sunrise Airways a / desde Camaguey operarán dos veces por semana. Sunrise Airways (IATA: S6, ICAO: KSZ), la primera y única aerolínea de propiedad haitiana en obtener un Permiso de operación Parte 129, está aumentando para satisfacer la creciente demanda de viajes aéreos seguros, confiables y asequibles en todo el Oeste.
