About Tampa International Airport
Tampa International Airport (IATA: TPA) is an international airport based in Hillsborough County, Florida. The airport opened in abril 1971 and serves cities in North America, Central America, the Caribbean and Europe. The airport has an area of 3,300 acres, it owns three runways and has been applauded for its architecture and design of its central terminal. Tampa International Airport handles 19.6 million passengers per year and this will increase to 34 million in the coming years.
Tampa International is one of only two airports in the United States to accept regular flights to four Cuban cities: Camagüey, Havana, Holguín, and Santa Clara. The airport is the primary hub for Silver Airways and Southwest Airlines operates as a focus city for the airport and carries the airport's largest share of passengers, operating up to 121 daily flights.

Terminals
Tampa International Airport's Landside/Airside terminal was the first-ever of its type worldwide. The airport was the first airport around the world to deploy a fully automated, driver-free people mover system. The airport is very similar landside/airside terminal design used at Orlando International Airport. In total, the airport has four airside terminals.
Airside A
Airside A opened on marzo 1995 and has in total 16 gates, numbered 1-18. Airside A is used by the following airlines Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, Silver Airways, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country Airlines and United Airlines
Airside C
Airside C is the largest airside by area. Opened in abril 2005, it has in total 16 gates numbering from 30-45. This terminal serves its hub airline Southwest Airlines.
Airside E
Airside E opened on octubre 2002 and has in total 13 gates numbered 62-75. This terminal serves Air Canada, Frontier Airlines, Delta Air Lines and WestJet as well as Icelander Air for departures and Swift Air for seasonal charters.
Airside F
Airside F is opened on noviembre 1987 and has in total 14 gates numbering from 76 to 90. This terminal serves Air Transat, British Airways, Cayman Airways, Copa Airlines, Edelweiss Air, Lufthansa, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Swoop.

How to get to Tampa International Airport
By Road
There are a number of companies that provide taxicab service at Tampa International Airport. If you need a taxi, simply head outside of the baggage claim area. A taxi ride to downtown Tampa can take just 20 minutes.
By Public Transport
Tampa Airport is served by Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HART) bus route 30 which takes 17 minutes between the airport and Downtown Tampa and also SuperShuttle offers shared-ride, door-to-door shuttle service between the airport and destinations within Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando Counties.
