Transwest Air was founded in 2000 as a merger between Athabaska Airways and La Ronge Aviation Services. It's now a Canadian airline owned by West Wind Aviation since 2016. Athabaska Airways was originally founded in 1955 and La Ronge Aviation Services was founded in 1960, both airlines only started with operating with one Cessna 180 aircraft until the airlines grew and expanded its fleet over the years.

Every passenger can carry two pieces of luggage onboard the aircraft. These bags cannot exceed the total weight of 20lbs (9kg). There are no specific dimensions to follow but the bags have to fit in the overhead lockers or under the seat.
No firearms and ammunition are allowed onboard but can be checked in as checked baggage if it's declared to the airline.
Any checked baggage allowance should be stated on the e-ticket, but not every flight has checked baggage capacity depending on the aircraft operating. Any passenger who wishes to carry firearms and ammunition must be declared. Also, according to the Northern Scheduled Services' policy, no alcohol is allowed in any baggage.
Online check-in is not available for the airline. All passenger must check-in at the airport.
Airport check-in counters close 30 minutes before scheduled departure time. Any passengers who are late for check-in will be considered as 'no-show' and the seat will be transferred to a standby passenger. Passengers are advised to check-in one hour before scheduled departure time.
Please bring your valid photo identification to check-in to confirm your identity, this could be a passport, drivers licence, provincial health card, provincial identity card, birth certificate or a certificate of Indian Status. These documents have to show the holder's name, date of birth and gender.
Transwest Air is not a part of any airline alliances.
Northern Sky Rewards is the airline's frequent flyer programme, which members can receive a standby flight after flying with the airline for 10 times! All you need is to show your 10 boarding passes at check-in and your standby flight will be waiting for you.

Pets can travel as checked baggage on the Saab aircraft fleet, but it cannot travel in the cabin due to the health and safety regulations. Pets must be transported in a lockable hard-sided and big enough for the animal to move freely cage in order for the airline to accept. Transwest Air may refuse to carry the animal if the aircraft is also shipping dry ice, passenger fails to comply with the airline rules, aircraft lacking capacity or the cargo hold hasn't got a temperature control system.
Passenger must notify the airline at the time of booking if the passenger is travelling with a pet. The passenger must check-in an hour before the scheduled departure time and pay for a handling fee in advance.
