About TUIfly Belgium

TUIfly Belgium is a Belgian leisure airline owned by the German travel company TUI. Founded in 2003 as Jetairfly Tui later merged their Moroccan airline Jet4you making a new schedule airline for the group. The airline went through a rebrand in line with the wider TUI groups airlines and became TUIfly Belgium. The airline is part of the Tui Groups airline alliance, shared with their Dutch, German, Nordic and British sister airlines.

Operating with a similar business model to that of the TUI Groups other airlines, TUIfly Belgium operates both scheduled and charter services. As the airline is predominantly a leisure airline numerous routes they operate are seasonal and are only available during peak holiday periods, catering to holidaymakers wishing to travel to holiday destinations in Europe and globally. TUIfly Belgium operates 4 families of aircraft with the majority being Boeing. On the airlines, short routes an Embraer E190, Boeing 737-700, -800 and Max 8 are used. The airline also has the Max 10 on order with plans to phase out their older -700 aircraft. On their longer routes, the airline also uses the B767 and B787 Dreamliner.

Equipaje permitido

Hand Baggage

Regardless of your class of travel, you are allowed to carry up to 10kg of cabin baggage on board. This must not exceed 30cm x 30cm x 15cm and should be stored under your seat. You are allowed to bring a small wheeled cabin case instead which cannot be any larger than 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. The larger cabin bag must be checked-in prior to departure, but this is free of charge.

Equipaje Facturado

If you have chosen to fly with a 'Fly Deluxe' ticket then you are entitled to take a suitcase weighing no more than 25kg on both legs of your journey. However, if travelling in economy you don't get any luggage included so would need to purchase this in advance, check our website when booking to add a case. Even on international long-haul flights you do not receive checked baggage as standard.

Clase Económica

Economy class is offered on all aircraft types operated by the airline. The experience may differ depending on the route length flow. If travelling internationally on a long-haul flight then you can expect to receive meals and non-alcoholic beverages included free of charge. However, if you wish to drink an alcoholic beverage then these can be purchased as well as a range of snacks from the inflight 'Cafe Flyer' menu. Similarly, if travelling on a short-haul flight the airline doesn't offer free catering and if you are feeling peckish or thirsty food and drink can be purchased on board. On the airline's 737 aircraft you can expect the cabin to be laid out in 3x3 across with an average seat pitch of 30" (76.2 cm). However, on the smaller Embraer E190, you will be treated to either a window or aisle seat as its cabin layout is 2x2. On long-haul routes operated by either the 767 or 787 Dreamliner, you can relax on a plush leather seat with 33" (83.82 cm) pitch and 2x4x2 across on the 767 and 3x3x3 on the Dreamliner.

Fly Deluxe

TUIfly Belgium offers their version of a premium experience, it isn't quite business class but is more similar to a premium economy offering. The airline offers this service on all flights, however, long-haul travellers will enjoy an even better experience. On short-haul routes, if you are a 'Fly Deluxe' passenger you will be allocated a seat at the front of the aircraft, however, the seats will be the same as those of economy. Only on the airlines Dreamliner and 767 do you receive a larger seat with a pitch of 36" (91.44 cm), also being 2x3x2 across.

When travelling on any route in the airlines 'Fly Deluxe' product you can expect to receive a complimentary meal and beverages, which include alcoholic beverages. The airline even tries to increase the luxuriousness of their service by also offering you a pre-departure glass of champagne to get you relaxed and your holiday started. Before sipping your champagne and dining on your complimentary meal there is a wide range of additional benefits the airline offers you as a premium passenger. When departing from either Brussels or Charleroi you can skip the security queue and head through a dedicated priority lane, and if departing from Brussels can make use of a dedicated check-in for premium passengers only. On all flights back to Belgium the airline will also provide you with a complimentary Belgian newspaper and on long-haul flights a travel package amenity kit of eye-mask, socks, earplugs and more.

Wifi & Entertainment

The airline hasn't got wifi on any of its aircraft and doesn't have plans to roll this out in the future. When travelling on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner you can expect to have a personal inflight entertainment screen with the latest films, TV, games and more. However, on all other aircraft, there is no inflight entertainment available. On the Boeing 787, 767 and Max aircraft there are USB ports for you to charge your devices.

Información de registro

Online check-in facilities are available to use up to 24hrs before your departure. The airline recommends this method as it can reduce your wait times at the airport, simply check-in and print or use the virtual boarding pass and head through the terminal. If you need to check a bag in you can do so online and then visit one of the airline's bag drop counters, new to Charleroi these counters are self-service. If you would rather check in at the airport, then this is still an option.

Programa de viajero frecuente

Similar to the rest of the airlines within the TUI Group, TUIfly Belgium doesn't offer a frequent flyer program.

Airline Alliances

TUIfly Belgium is not a member of any airline alliance, but as it is owned by the TUI travel Group it has a strong relation with sister airlines. TUIfly Belgium and TUIfly Netherlands have very strong links and are jointly part of the TUI BENELUX strategy where the Dutch airline and Belgian airline share fleet, allowing the other to operate each other's aircraft where demand permit. In general, this shouldn't affect your experience onboard the only difference with the aircraft livery may say Belgium or Netherlands, so don't worry if a Dutch aircraft arrives, you are going to the right destination!

Aeropuerto Principal

As the airline operates primarily leisure routes from numerous destinations in Belgium, the airline doesn't have a hub airport. Instead, they operate with numerous hub locations In the country as well as 2 in Morrocco.

Flota

TUIfly Belgium uses 4 types of aircraft within its fleet. The airline operates Embraer E190 aircraft on small, low demand hops. Boeing 737s, with -700, -800 and Max 8 varients are utilised on European and medium-haul routes with the 767 also being used on medium to long haul services. On the airline's long routes to destinations such as Cuba and Mexico, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is used.

As they are also part of TUI BENELUX the airline also has the opportunity to use TUIfly Netherlands aircraft, which also include the Airbus A320.
