Baggage Policy

Viva Air Colombia allowed all passengers on domestic and international flights to bring one free handbag with a maximum weight of 10 kg.

Equipaje de Mano

VivaColombia Aerolinea allowed all passengers on domestic and international flights one free handbag with a maximum weight of 10 kg. This baggage could not exceed the dimensions of 40 cm (101") x 35 cm (89" x 25 cm (63") and also had to fit under the seat in front of each passenger.

In addition to this, passengers flying with the Combo++ fare were given an additional free 12 kg of carry-on baggage that could be stored in the overhead locker in the cabin. This baggage could not exceed the overall dimensions of 55 cm (21") x 45 cm (18") x 25 cm (10").

Those who didn't purchase the Combo++ fare could purchase carry-on baggage separately at an extra cost.

Equipaje Facturado

Passengers that had purchased the Combo++ fare were given a free checked baggage allowance of 20 kg. This baggage could not exceed the overall dimensions of 158 cm (62").

Those who didn't purchase the Combo++ fare could purchase checked baggage at an extra cost.

Cabin Classes

Viva Air Colombia only had 1 cabin class - Economy Class.

Clase Económica

Viva Air Colombia had one cabin class — Economy Class. The Economy cabin offered value for money, with a stripped-back service designed to get you from A to B safely and comfortably.

Within the Economy Class cabin, there were three different fares that passengers could purchase. Each fare gave different benefits:

A la carta

  • Handbag (10 kg)
  • Allocated random seat

Combo+

  • Handbag (10 kg)
  • Checked bag (20 kg)
  • Seat selection (choice from central and back zone)

Combo++

  • Handbag (10 kg)
  • Carry-on bag (12 kg)
  • Checked bag (20 kg)
  • Selección de asiento
  • Prioridad de embarque
  • Free airport check-in
  • No flight change fee

Facilities

Passengers could purchase food and drink when offered by the flight attendants once on-board.

Asientos

Seats were set out in a 3 x 3 formation and gave the standard amount of seat pitch and width for the Airbus A330 aircraft.

In-flight Entertainment & WIFI

As a low-cost airline operating short-haul and medium-haul flights, VivaColombia Aerolinea didn't have an in-flight entertainment system installed on its flights. Passengers were welcome to bring their own devices onboard for entertainment, however, the airline didn't have a WIFI network so any media would need to be downloaded pre-flight.

WIFI

Viva Air Colombia didn't offer WIFI on any of its flights, regardless of whether the route is domestic or international.

Food & Drink

Viva Colombia offered a variety of different snacks and drinks on-board its flights.

Check-in

Viva Air Colombia would let you check in online 24 hours before your flight scheduled time. However, if you were unable to check-in online you could check-in at the airport.

Web Check-in

Passengers could check in for their Viva Air Colombia flight online through the Viva Air Colombia online check-in page. Online check-in could be completed by entering the confirmation number of the booking and the passenger's last name. Check-in opened between 24–2 hours before flight departure time on domestic flights and 24–3 hours.

Passengers could also check in at the airport, however, airport check-in needed to be pre-purchased with the airline directly as an additional service and will cost a fee. We recommended that passengers arrived 2 hours prior to their flight departure time in order to check in for their Viva Air Colombia flight.

Viva Air Colombia had an interline agreement with Mexican airline, VivaAerobús. This agreement gave people more flight options between North America and South America, with each airline offering connections available to book on both airlines throughout their continents all under the same itinerary.

Can I book Viva Colombia flights?

No. Since Viva Colombia ceased its operations in early 2023, you can no longer book flights with the airline. However, there are a number of other airlines that you fly with that operate a similar route to Viva Colombia including Aeromexico and Avianca.
