Due to the limited number of seats available in STOL aircraft, it is likely that the airline will only offer one class of service: Economy. However, the airline has already announced that ticket fares will be introduced. Although the onboard service will be the same, tiered ticket fares offer different levels of flexibility when it comes to whether the ticket can be cancelled or the date changed, etc.

Yashodhara Air will operate flights to more remote domestic destinations within Nepal. It will operate from two bases: Ramechhap Airport and Pokhara Airport. The airline will focus on serving the Everest region (from Ramechhap Airport) and Annapura mountains region, including Jomsom, Rara, Simkot and Nepalgunj (from Pokhara Airport).

What is a STOL flight?

STOL stands for ‘Short Take Off and Landing’ and it refers to the length of the runway or airstrip (or water) required for aircraft take-offs and landings. STOL aircraft are capable of departing or arriving even when the length of the runway is limited. Due to the difficulty of the terrain and landscape in Nepal, STOL aircraft are required to operate on many routes between more remote locations.

What does Yashodhara stand for?

The new airline is named after Yashodhara, the wife of Siddhattha Gotama. Gotama was a spiritual leader who lived in ancient India and is credited with founding the Buddhist religion.
